A Christmas Message From Alcoholics Anonymous Member #1

TO ALL MEMBERS:

Greetings On Our 10th Christmas 1944

Yes, it's in the air! The spirit of Christmas once more warms
this poor distraught world.
Over the whole globe millions are looking forward to that one
day when strife can be forgotten, when it will be remembered that all human beings, even the least are loved by God. When men will hope for the coming of the Prince of Peace as they never hoped before.

But there is another world which is not poor. Neither is it
distraught. It is the world of Alcoholics Anonymous, where thousands dwell happily and secure. Secure because each of us, in his own way, knows a greater power who is love, who is just, and who can be trusted.

Nor can men and women of AA ever forget that only through
suffering did they find enough humility to enter the portals of that New World.

How privileged we are to understand so well the divine paradox that strength rises from weakness, that humiliation goes before resurrection; that pain is not only the price but the very touchstone of spiritual rebirth.

Knowing it's full worth and purpose, we can no longer fear
adversity, we have found prosperity where there was poverty, peace and joy have sprung out of the very midst of chaos. Great indeed, our blessings! And so,-- Merry Christmas to you all-- from the Trustees, from Bobbie and from Lois and me.

Bill W Obviously believed in God. so do we

Whats a Christian Rehab

Celebrate A New Life and rehabilitation are located in picturesque southern California, just minutes from the coastal communities of the Pacific Ocean. Our centers are designed around our clients needs and offer individualized Christian Drug Treatment plans. Our goal is to offer hope to those who despair, and teach and encourage them to incorporate a proven direction out of the destructive cycle of addiction.

Celebrate A New Life's philosophy of treatment lies in its commitment to the individual: all of this company's resources are utilized to help the next new person checking into drug treatment. People respond well to drug and alcohol rehab programs when they are treated with dignity and respect. When a person feels others care about his plight, when he feels you understand, that is when the best in his character and personality emerge. That is a prime recovery opportunity and it is our responsibility to those who have entrusted themselves to its care, to produce.

Celebrate A New Life is a Christian residential drug rehab and alcohol treatment center, located in the coastal communities of Orange County Southern California. Our faith-focused mission is to minister the love of Jesus Christ to the least, the last and the lost. The pain, turmoil, and devastation caused by addiction needs to come to an end. Help is needed. Help is available. Call us Today! Toll –Free (800) 708-3173

California Drug Rehab

Celebrate A New Life at Hope By The Sea specializes in dual diagnoses.
Many dual diagnoses have a history of being wrongly diagnosed. Mistreatment of this illness, even when a person is in drug recovery, usually results in relapse. These dual disorders can be very successfully treated if holistically approached. That is, treating one in combination with the other. Our best success at Celebrate A New Life at our California Treatment Center is with dual diagnosis because we follow a certain schedule.

Dual diagnosis clients who have a history of these disorders are assessed by Celebrate A New Life and Hope By The Sea staff, psychological history is evaluated. Medical and medication history is also assessed. Proper medication if necesary is prescribed.
While psychiatric care is the priority with a new client, his/her spiritual issues of addiction should be treated with the same emphasis and at the same time. Medication only goes so far; development of the soul and spirit, personality, social skills, and communication lead a person out of dependence on illegal chemicals and excessive medication. We want to achieve a healthy integration of the personality, while at the same time, Celebrate A New Life teaches a direction of self-improvement through one on one counseling,Celebrate Recovery meetings, Bible Study, Worship and the twelve-step process. Many people today live enriched lives and find continued support in Christ-centered twelve-step participation groups and that recovery philosophy.

A great number of people with dual diagnosis have found hope and success in recovery following this formula. Whatever particular mood disorder the client learns to distinguish the nature of his/her conflict, and recognizes the need to accept and work on these issues by eventually feeling like he is a member of a caring group, and learning in turn to care for others, the client more easily finds his way to be honest and communicate his feelings. He is not alone. Relating to others is a powerful tool in the treatment process. Our treatment of dual diagnosis and dual disorder will return you to a healthy and enjoyable lifestyle.

Celebrate Recovery Summit August 12th through August 14th 2009

Saddleback Church Lake Forest California Hosting Annual Summit

Sixteen years ago, Saddleback Church launched Celebrate Recovery with 43 people. It was designed as a program to help those struggling with hurts, habits, and hang-ups by showing them the loving power of Jesus Christ through the recovery process. Celebrate Recovery has helped more than 10,500 people at Saddleback, attracting more than 70 percent of its members from outside the church. Eighty-five percent of the people who go through the program stay with the church and nearly half serve as church volunteers.

Our society is becoming more and more complex. Kids now have three sets of grandparents. Sexual addiction for men and women is growing at an exponential rate. Divorce is at an all time high – for Christians. This is our reality.

John Baker, the founder of the Celebrate Recovery ministry, is passionate about recovery because he’s experienced it firsthand. Eighteen years ago, God gave John a vision for a Christ-centered recovery program. Today more than 500,000 people have gone through Celebrate Recovery program in more than 10,000 churches.

John is the pastor of Celebrate Recovery at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, Calif., He has served on the Saddlebacks pastoral staff for the last 15 years. He is the author of the Celebrate Recovery Curriculum and his new book Lifes Healing Choices. He is also the general editor or the Celebrate Recovery Bible.

Joining John will be his wife of 38 years, Cheryl, who has worked side-by-side with him since the inception of Celebrate Recovery.

Christian Alcohol Rehab California Drug Treatment

Celebrate A New Life is a Christian Alcohol Rehab and California Drug Treatment Center. We offer high-quality residential treatment in the coastal communities of Southern California. We can see that a relationship with Christ as the only way to true healing. In the early days of A.A. that is the message that was taught. This is the message that we teach at celebrate a New Life.
The foregoing three sets of facts need to be learned and known today. There is a vital need for a Great Spiritual Awakening in the recovery community, in recovery programs, among churches and clergy, and in recovery fellowships. There is a need to restore our Heavenly Father, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the Word of God to the center of recovery programs, recovery efforts, and recovery literature. For the premise of early A.A.—still to be found in the Big Book—is that the alcoholic cannot manage his own life, that probably no human power can relieve him of his alcoholism, and that God can and will if He is sought. The basic ideas for A.A. came from the Bible, and the potential is described in Hebrews 11:6:

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

As A.A. Cofounder Dr. Bob explained to a member the meaning of the slogan “First things first,” Bob pointed to Matthew 6:23 in Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount:

But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Dual Diagnosis - Co-exisitng Disorders

Services for Dual Diagnosis & Disorders
Professional treatment for all co-exisitng disorders and dual diagnosis is speciality and passion of Celebrate A New Life. Up to 40% of people entering drug and alcohol rehab treatment today have a co-existing disorder joined with drug abuse or alcoholism. The dual disorder can include anxiety, a eating disorder, a bipolar mood disorder or depression. Get help now for dual disorders and diagnosis.

Dual diagnosis is a term that refers to the presence of one or more psychological disorders co-existing with alcoholism or drug addiction. Many of these are considered 'mood disorders' and can represent inner conflicts developed in the past, or developed as a result of active addiction or alcoholism. Some dual diagnoses are more severe and a person may have a long history of psychiatric treatment, medications, and even institutionalization.

Dual disorder and diagnosis ranges from mild affliction to extreme. Each category may include: Eating disorders, anxiety, depression, bipolar, A.D.D., rapid cycling, and there are many more. Some require medications, some require long term sobriety. A large percent of people in treatment today displayed symptoms of bipolar while they were drug addicted. It turns out, however, that instead of psychiatric services, and medications, all they really needed is total abstinence from illegal drugs, personal growth, personal success, and a direction in life that makes them happy.

In other disorder cases, we find severe cases of mental and emotional states that require psychiatric assessment and medication to achieve 'balance.' Once the proper medication is discovered, these people respond very well to addiction treatment just like anyone else.

Historically, people with dual disorder problems have not done well in drug rehab treatment until recently. Before these co-existing disorders were truly understood, treatment centers commonly made the mistake of a misdiagnosis and either over managed the psychiatric approach to the exclusion of the recovery approach; or, the reverse was true. Treatment centers would ignore the symptoms of a co-existing disorder and rationalize, "sobriety will take care of it all." This is simply not the case. Treating a dual diagnostic client is not that simple. Celebrate A New Life incorporates a holistic treatment philosophy.

A responsible treatment program must assess those with psychological conflicts thoroughly. At Celebrate A New Life, our counselors are experienced with any of the mood disorder afflictions, and make a recommendation for psychological counseling. If psychiatric services are needed, our treatment team psychiatrist assesses and evaluates the client extensively. Psychological history, medications, institutions, and personal history are taken into consideration, and required medications are prescribed. Call Today (800) 708-3173
